My weight journey has been full of more ups than downs. Every time I lose weight, it just comes back. Over the past 2 years, the scale has not moved no matter how little I eat or how much I exercise.
After looking honestly, I realized I was eating good during the week, but using weekends and holidays as one long cheat day. I undid all my progress by eating what I wanted. I had to change my mindset that it is a lifestyle change and not a diet. I also prayed and asked God for guidance on the best foods to eat.
Proverbs 25:16 is, “Do you like honey? Don’t eat too much, or it will make you sick.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, 2015
God has changed my relationship with food. I no longer want to stuff my face with excess food to sooth my feelings. I still enjoy eating and want to nourish my body with food. The Lord has transformed my eating habits so I can enjoy my favorite foods without eating too much. The weight is starting to slowly come off. I must stay close to Jesus and keep seeking Him. He helps me walk away from excess food.
