Both Facebook and X are huge timewasters for me. Last week, I wasted time scrolling on social media before I opened my Bible. These apps are extremely addictive for me. I have tried using screen time limits on my phone, but it didn’t work. My brain desires constant stimulation. I turn to social media when I am bored or don’t feel like working.
Not only do I waste time, but social media keeps me from drawing closer to the Lord. I recently deleted these apps from my phone. This helps me to open my Bible when I wake up instead of scrolling on my phone.
Jeremiah 29:13 is, “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

I cannot seek God wholeheartedly while mindlessly scrolling social media. He showed me that my continual scrolling is a barrier that causes me to drift away. I am grateful that Jesus showed me I needed to cut these empty distractions from my life. God is helping me using my time wisely. I am drawing closer to the Lord instead of wasting time on social media.
