I have not updated this blog since early March. I wrote new entries weekly until a year ago. The craziness of 2020/21 gave me a new goal of posting monthly. Since my last entry, I have not found time (or made time) to open my blog app. My stresses added up: teaching students in a public school during a pandemic, my mom’s death last year, and daily chores/challenges.
I stepped on the scale during my last checkup and was slapped by reality. The scale passed an old number I never wanted to see again. When I got honest, I realized I was eating too much. In the weeks that followed, digestive issues led me to change my eating habits. Sugar and fats cause problems when eaten in large amounts. I turned back to the Lord and surrendered my food intake.
Luke 12:31 is, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, 2015
After turning back to God a month ago, I started eating better. I look better in pictures taken now than in ones from earlier this year. My devotion time is becoming more focused on the Lord. Food is no longer the first thought that pops into my mind. When I seek Jesus, He fills my heart so I don’t want to stuff food in my body. I need keep seeking Him to stay free from food.
